SSACC DAY OF CARING 2011 – A GREAT SUCCESS!

“Many hands make light work!”

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who participated at our Thursday, June 9th workday!  We had 10 on site volunteers, 8 from the community chest and 2 from Warriors Path Volunteer Fire Department.  Ben Wexler was the “prime organizer” for the event, and did an outstanding job! 

The work performed was:

           1. Trimming, Edging and Mulching at both sides of the main park entrance.

           2. Trim and Edging of the shrubbery behind the concession stand.

           3. Miscellaneous Mowing and String Trimming on needed areas throughout the park.

All work was finished as planned before noon.  Lunch was provided by Food City.

7-1-2010 - “We’re Debt Free!” - Sullivan South Area Community Chest Pays Off Park Land!


It is with great pride we announce that the SSACC has paid our loan in full for the Southview Community Park.
“The Chest and its board members are very excited about this accomplishment” said Gail Cole, Current President of the SSACC.

 

9-18-2009 - Sullivan South Area Community Chest goes online and finishes their 2009 Newsletter

 

6-16-2009 - Sullivan South Community Chest Day of Caring was Thursday June 16, 2009.  This year we painted the large room and hall in the center of the Southview Park Community Building.

4-14-2009 - This year SSACC was proud to support the Lions Narnia Braille Trail at Warriors Path State Park, a new expansion of Darrell’s Dream Boundless Playground. The Braille Trail removes barriers for the blind, visually impaired and handicapped, and promotes learning for children of all abilities.
